The recent heinous act of burning a copy of the Qu'ran in front of the Stockholm Central Mosque on the day of Eid al-Adha represents a dangerous turn in the series of Qu'ran burning operations carried out by some extremists in Sweden and several Western countries in recent years, as the provocative act this time was not just an individual act committed by one of the extremists, rather, it was the result of a court ruling by the Swedish court of Appeal that allowed this. This means that the Swedish state bears the penalty for this provocative act and other similar provocative acts later. The burning of the Qur'an and The Associated incitement of hatred against Muslims and the fueling of so-called "Islamophobia" are abhorrent racist acts that reveal the depth of the crisis of the capitalist system and the state of the moral decay of Western capitalist civilization, not to mention the Western double standards of democracy, freedom of expression and Human Rights. We in the Kuwaiti Progressive Movement, while deploring the ruling of the Swedish court of appeal to allow the burning of the Qur'an, call on the Kuwaiti government and the National Assembly to take diplomatic and procedural measures towards Sweden and demand that it reverse the provocative racist ruling of the appeals court there... We also call on the Swedish progressive and leftist forces to declare clear rejecting positions towards provocative actions and racist sentences.
